How to use the House
When we welcome guests the most repeated comment is ‘WOW’, this is normally expressed on reaching the main, open plan room. The walk from your car takes you through the fuscia pink front door, along the generous hallway, past the bedrooms and up six steps into the room with the beach view.
Once you’ve arrived the house feels ‘different’, we thought you might like to understand James’ design intentions and how we live in the house. From the ultimate sea-view study - a treat for any workation - through to the glistening mosaic tiles in the ensuite bathroom this will give you a hint of how to enjoy our award winning home.
All day seating
Designed to be enjoyed from dawn to dusk, the house offers two outside seating areas. The beach deck can be enjoyed throughout the day, perfect for sheltered sunbathing or deck games with the little ones. Later relax with evening drinks on the garden deck where you can watch the sun go down and enjoy the seaside planting.
Outdoor eating
Many guests enjoy the various take-away food options from the local Pagham village. Our outdoor eating areas are perfect for the morning coffee or brunch on the beachside; your post beach meal can be enjoyed with friends and family on the garden-side decking, sheltered under the parasol by our BBQ area.
Sea to shower
Created for outdoor living, after a bracing beach walk or a yoga session on the deck, you can enjoy a dip in the sea and freshen up with an outdoor hot shower. We provide two deckchairs, two sun loungers and for senior guests two comfortable upright chairs for snoozing, sitting and reading in the sea breeze.
Open fire
The living area is centred around an open fire. We provide all you need with seasoned wood from our home woodland in the South Downs. Enjoy a relaxing evening; the leather banquette fitted sofa contains drawers with toys for various ages: toddler building blocks, board games for kids and cards and jigsaws for adults.
Chef's kitchen
For keen foodies our well equipped kitchen has two electric ovens, a five burner gas hob, extensive stock of pans, scales and bakeware. A Nespresso machine, frother and cafetiere all boost your start to the day. Under counter fridge and freezer allow you to stock up on ice for the evening’s G&T and treats for your younger guests.
Workation
Need a fresh perspective? Our purpose designed home office makes for the perfect sanctuary in which to work or write your novel. Visiting guests often work from this snug room, slide close the frosted glass door for minimum disruption. With a stunning sea view you can enjoy the quiet beach with added benefit of fast WIFI.
